Information on the Coronavirus

People returning from travels to risk prone areas are required to stay home and call their physician or the public health department. They are not allowed to enter buildings for the general public like schools, day care centers, retirement homes and such.

Current numbers March 23th, 2020 at1 p.m.: There are 27 people infected by Corona in Cottbus.

Starting from Wednesday, March 18th, 2020, all daycare facilities for children are going to be closed. Schools are going to suspend lessons and emergency care restricted to children up to the age of 12 will be established. This offer is only available for kids of parents and custodians in companies and administrative bodies of the so-called critical infrastructure.

The city administration offices are closed for public starting from Monday, March 16th, 2020. While the offices are staffed, the opening hours are suspended. Contact is restricted to virtual means. You can either call (number: 6120), write an email or send a fax. This regulation applies to pre-booked appointments, as well.

Moreover, all local cultural, sports and leisure facilities are closed since Monday, March 16th, 2020 and remain closed until further notice.

Since Monday, March 16th, 2020, the hospital Carl-Thiem-Klinikum does not accommodate elective patients anymore which means only critical operations will be performed. The care for pregnant women and tumor patients is secured. In order to avoid further spread of the disease, visits are temporarily suspended.
