Blueprint manufacturing is a very old and seldom practised handcraft.

In the Spreewald, the Sorbs and Wends have designed the blueprint technology in a tasteful and creative manner. With its tender surface patterns and artistic borders, blueprint is still an element of the traditional Wendish costume. Blueprint has got a lot of connoisseurs.

The Cottbus blueprint workshop, today the only one in Lower Lusatia, is continuing the family traditions. The original Spreewald-Blueprint was fully hand-made using traditional methods. There are hundreds of different patterns for the design.
