museum of art "Dieselkraftwerk" Cottbus

The Brandenburg art collections of Cottbus have 16,000 works from the categories of painting, sculpture, graphics, photography and posters ranging from Dresden expressionism to the present day. Since 1997 the museum has primarily worked on the topics of landscape, nature and environment.

There are around ten to twelve various exhibitions each year. The exhibition programme contains presentations of themes or single artists from the classical modern trend to contemporary art which includes more photography than anything else.

The Brandenburg art collections in Cottbus is a collection of museums founded in 1977. In 1990, Brandenburg took responsibility for it. The museum is being funded by the county and city.
