Cottbus has developed into a multinational city in the centre of Europe. This fact enables the city to a greater growth within the EU accession process of the ten new countries. There are people from other countries among the more than 100.000 inhabitants. This has become a natural fact. They work, study and live here and enrich our culture and the social development of our city.
The city partnerships provide extra opportunities and chances to let the citizens of various nationalities get closer to each other. These relations exist thanks to the engagement of people that personally support the process of getting to know each other not only in numerous clubs, associations, schools, nursery schools but also in the administration.
Cottbus maintains in total nine partnerships in Europe.
