The apparently unfavourable peripheral location of the region along the Polish border line will turn out to be an advantage for Cottbus within the EU accsession process.

The city will find again its place in the future between the metropolis of Berlin and the cities of Dresden, Leipzig, Poznań und Wrocław and stands up to its attractive location in the heart of Europe.

Cottbus has a lot of chances and opportunities to extend its economy as an integrated city into the European traffic networks.

The best conditions for settlements of companies and investors will be established by the service oriented city administration together with the Land Brandenburg.

Cottbus would like to profile itself as a city with an international flair and focuses on the project work of the city partnerships with other nine local authorities in Europe as well as on the active contribution to the German-Polish Euroregion "Spree-Neiße-Bober/Sprewa-Nysa-Bóbr".
